Sleepy Hummus Recipe

Just imagine a delicious night time snack that sets you in a mood for sleep. Chickpeas are rich in vitamin B6, which promotes the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Add basil which has been used as a mild sedative for generations and you have a sleep infused, healthy bed time snack.

It is not only simple to prepare but the results are perfect.

1 x 400g can of Chickpeas
Juice of half a lemon
4 x Tablespoon of Olive Oil
1 x Clove Garlic
Sea Salt and Black Pepper to Taste.


Tablespoon of Tahini
Bunch of Fresh Basil Leaves

Drain the Chickpeas and crush the garlic.
Place all the ingredients in the blender and smooth into sensual dip.
Spoon the luscious contents into a small dish.

To impress your other half, sparingly drizzle olive oil, sprinkle with a touch of paprika and finish off with a basil leaf.

Serve with carrot, celery sticks or small pizza sliced pita bread.
Eat an hour before bedtime. Tuck up in bed with a book and feel your body relax for a good nights sleep.
